Oh, the plane rides. The roughest flights had to be the long
ones: from New York > Johannesburg (15 hours - going to Africa) and from Johannesburg >
Washington DC (18 hours - coming back from Africa). On the way to Zambia, I had a man sitting next to me
on my left, and Karsen on my right. The man was going on safari or something in
Africa (couldn’t really understand what he was really going for). And I was so
thankful to be sitting by Karsen – someone I knew.
On the way back I had an empty seat on my left (such a
blessing!) and Karsen on my right (again, a blessing). The lady on my left (next
to the empty seat) was a missionary in South Africa who was coming home to
visit family. We got to talk a lot - which made the trip more pleasurable.
It was worth all of the rushing to catch a plane, waiting in the airport, and sitting for long periods of time to be able to visit Zambia.
